THE AWARDS CEREMONY
Celebrating 37 years of teaching children to dance
AN OPPORTUNITY TO CELEBRATE ACHIEVMENT
Students can celebrate examination success with family and friends at our Annual Award Ceremony.
Our Ceremonies are held at The Tower Suite, Drayton Manor. We also operate our own achievement recognition scheme that rewards students for exemplary conduct and high achievement.
A trophy is awarded to the student that achieves the highest mark within each subject,
regardless of the grade for which they are entered.
The Trophy holders of The Awards Ceremony 2018 will be displayed here shortly.
THE OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHS
When your child's name is called, they will be asked to enter the stage and collect their awards. Parents will have opportunity to applaud while they are taking their curtseys and bows! Then, family and friends can walk up to the stage front and take photographs. If you would like a photograph with your child's teacher, just ask. As the children exit the stage, they will be asked to stand in front of the backdrop. They will then have their official awards photograph taken by Kate Frost Photography. The images are then uploaded to the members area of our website where you can download them.
The fee for Official Award Photographs is covered in your ticket price.

THE INTERNATIONAL THEATRE DANCE AWARDS
The International Theatre Dance Awards are obtainable only through audition. Candidates are initially nominated by the Association’s Examiners when taking the higher Grades or Performers examinations through a qualified teacher. Eight awards are granted in Ballet, Theatre Craft, Tap, and Modern Jazz at higher Grade and Performers level. Over 500 candidates out of more than 7,500 are nominated each year for these awards and those who are successful are awarded a trophy and a cheque to further their dance career. Certificates are awarded to every nominee and the teachers of the winners.
Penelope's have had a number of candidates nominated for the Awards. A full list will be uploaded to this page shortly.

AM I ALLOWED TO TAKE PHOTOS?
Of course! We do have a professional photographer taking the official photographs once your child has been awarded but please feel free to take your own photographs from the stage front.
WHAT'S THE DRESS CODE?
The Awards Ceremony is a very special evening designed to celebrate the students' achievements. So we ask family and friends to follow a 'Black & White Night' smart dress code. Children are invited to wear 'Party Frocks' or Bridesmaid-style dresses. As for the boys, a smart suit is definitely welcomed!
CAN I BRING FOOD?
Food is not provided on the day, so you are invited to bring your own.
IS THERE A BAR?
There is a fully licensed bar at the Tower Suite. Please remember that due to this, every person aged 18 and under must be accompanied to the ceremony by an adult.
HOW DO I GET TICKETS?
Tickets will be released on general sale at the Studio Reception. Students will receive an email when tickets are released. There is no limit to the amount you can have however, tickets are released on a first-come first-served basis.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Guests usually arrive 15-20 minutes earlier than the Ceremony's given start time.
This is because the seats are not numbered and tables are unreserved.
So get yourself there early to grab a nice table!
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
If your child has taken a rosette examination before, please bring your banner. When we award Rosettes, we pin them onto the banner when the children enter the stage. This way, students can easily see their achievements.
WHAT ARE THE PENELOPE'S TROPHY AWARDS?
At Penelope's, we choose to award the highest mark in each subject with a trophy.
The trophy awards are held right at the end of the evening presentation so it's worth hanging on to see if you've been selected!
